We are back!Hi -- I know this’ll sound bad or maybe weird, but we just disappeared without explanation about what’s going on. Sometimes in life, things happen and changes the entire meaning of the original idea. And the same happened to us and to the development of Invasion. We are a small team, with responsibilities for other family members and we got into the situation where making money was more important than making our game. I'm pretty sure that a few of you reading these lines understand the importance of paying mortgage and bringing home food for kids. But enough about this serious talk, let’s talk about what our next steps in development will be
Game Video PreviewAfter working over the weekend, I'd like to show you guys the progress we made. Today I decided to create a short video on the UI. I would have liked to show other sections, but we are still working on it. Also, you may have noticed that we've been showing the same map all this time, but rest assured, we have other maps done up :)
UI: How we did the Unit SelectorToday I want to talk about the game feature that you'll regularly use - "Unit Selector". I know that it sounds strange to talk about such a basic thing, but we tried to make the gaming experience a more productive one, than just clicking on many windows and areas on the screen... saving mouse moves as much as is possible.
UI: Explanation of the Battle ScreenI would like to show what we've done, starting with the game UI and explain some basic functionality before we post the game for alpha testing.
Welcome to the Invasion on-line blogI would like to explain a bit about what we are doing, where we are going and when to expect things to happen. Though I should probably give an introduction first. We are a small team of people who love to play games. We’ve always wanted to create a game (3D) but the technical/financial requirements set us back on fulfilling our dream, so we decided to do a web-based game. Invasion On-line will be a hex turn-based strategy (check out the first few screenshots). We have been influenced by the many strategy games we’ve played over the years (Dune 2, Battle Isle, Panzer General, Total Annihilation, Supreme Commander). But when you play strategy games like these, you must sit behind a computer and commit to a few hours in order to finish a level (Supreme Commander is a nice example).
